Microsoft Songsmith

Microsoft Songsmith at Software.com

Songsmith helps you create songs using just your voice, by choosing musical accompaniments to match whatever you sing. Whether you're a musical novice looking to send a jingle to a friend or an aspiring songwriter looking to give it a first try, Songsmith lets you start making music.

Ever sing in the car? Maybe in the shower? You know who you are. Admit it, you like to sing, and you like music. Ever thought of writing your own music? Most people never get a chance to try... but we want to give everyone a piece of the songwriting experience, so we've developed Songsmith, an application that lets you create a complete song just by singing! Are we going to turn you into an award-winning songwriter overnight? Of course not. But Songsmith will give you a way to create something authentically musical and authentically yours, even if you don't know the first thing about chords or music theory.

Just open up Songsmith, choose from one of thirty different musical styles, and press record. Sing whatever you like - a birthday song for Mom, a love song for that special someone (they'll be impressed that you wrote a song for them!), or maybe just try playing with your favorite pop songs. As soon as you press "stop", Songsmith will generate musical accompaniment to match your voice, and play back your song for you. It's that simple.

For songwriters, is Songsmith going to replace the craft of songwriting? Never. Could it be a super-useful "intelligent scratchpad" for exploring new melodies and ideas? Definitely. If you're a songwriter, you've probably had the experience of coming up with a melody and finding the nearest object with a "record" button on it just to get your idea down. Imagine that first quick experience also letting you explore chord progressions, styles, even basic arrangement ideas. Then of course you'd work with other tools, other people, your instruments, and your own musical intuition to really develop a song. But Songsmith can be a great tool that lets you quickly explore new ideas in places where you couldn't before (on the go, on the bus, in the airport, etc.). And Songsmith works great with instrumental input too!

It's fast and easy to use, after opening a song file the software automatically processes and extracts the chords!

iChords is based on D'Accord's unique audio processing technology. It provides the best results in terms of chords recognition. With iChords 2.0 you will be able to play any song!

D'Accord's iChords 2.0 is a musician's dream come true. Chords, in any song, are identified without searching for tablatures or sheet music. The software is easy-to-use and after opening a song file, it automatically processes and extracts the chords.

The new export video feature generates a file with the song being played on the guitar or keyboard and allows musicians to create personalized transcriptions. For instance, they can change the transcribed chords and add song lyrics in a karaoke-like style. If lyrics are added and chords transposed, they can be printed together with chord diagrams. For each chord, the software presents fingering and notation.

Novice players can configure the difficulty level of the presented chords and choose from easy, medium or difficult; it's possible to play from simple harmonies to complex musical pieces.

For guitar players, there are four different guitar-view modes, including one for left-handed players. And, users can control the tempo, according to skill.

Check out the unique features that iChords 2.0 offers to you:
You can edit the song adding chords and lyrics in an easy and fun way;

Export songs as videos files! This enables you to have the song, chords and lyrics everywhere in your iPod, MP4 player or mobile phone;

View and Print your chords also on the keyboard mode;

Choose the level of complexity and learn in the way that suits your skills: easy, normal and difficult chords!

Works with DRM-enabled WMA files found in online music stores.

Dynamic Learning Online Microsoft Outlook 2007 Training

Dynamic Learning Online Microsoft Outlook 2007 Training at Software.com

The Dynamic Learning Online (DLO) web-based Microsoft Outlook 2007 training utilises the latest in Cognitive Load Theory to quickly outline and teach Microsoft Outlook's latest features in a powerful and easy-to-use format. Twenty-two interactive online training sessions or activities, covering many of the important new features of Outlook 2007, are included.

Dynamic Learning Online offers a simple but powerful interactive method for training and testing yourself in the new Microsoft Outlook 2007. Our training methodology, which has been University tested, offers a simulated environment that does not require you to have Office 2007 or Windows Vista installed. Testing is also performed in a simulated manner, and provides a more reliable assessment of your skill level than multi-choice questions offered by other vendors.

While undergoing our training activities, you would appear to be working with the actual software, e.g. Word, Excel, etc. We provide full-screen images of the environment, explain the current situation and then ask you to click at a particular location. We also show you where to click by the use of an arrow. This methodology forms the basis of cognitive learning.

Major features of our interactive training programs include:

  • A powerful methodology, developed and tested by extensive academic research.
  • Interactive use of an arrow to guide users through a powerful but easy to use process.
  • Each training activity containing details of the number of steps and which step the user is currently on. Users can stop at each step for as long as necessary to understand the concept being taught.
  • A powerful inbuilt Learning Management System (LMS) that keeps track of user progress. Each activity allows for the following information: (i) Time taken to complete an activity; (ii) Status of the activity (completed or not); (iii) Last date launched; and (iv) Times attempted.
  • A choice of undertaking an activity on a step by step basis, or randomly selecting up to five different entry points to rapidly find the training area of interest.
  • Backward and forward buttons to quickly check previous steps to ensure understanding of the different training concepts.
  • Note as the online learning simulates all the relevant environments, you do not need to have any of the new Microsoft Office 2007 or Windows Vista products installed on your computer.
